CTG Capital, the subsidiary in CTG  in Peru, has won a tender for a 30-year concession from the municipality of Callao. Callao is a part of greater Lima and has a population of 1.5 million people. The concession is for the comprehensive supply of the water needs of the city of Callao for irrigation for the next 30 years.

Under this general concession, the municipality has already ordered the first wastewater treatment facility that will enable water recovery for irrigation purposes. This plant will have a capacity of 1200 m3/day.

Peru is suffering from a sever water shortage and has a very limited water and waste water infrastructure and water recover is central to national goals for the successful implementation of a national water usage program.

The construction of this project is expected to be completed in August, 2010. Callao will order two additional wastewater treatment facilities, which will be built adjacent to the initial deployment.

CTG is providing the Municipality of Callao with a complete Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) program by which CTG Captial will supply the complete irrigation needs for the municipality for a period of 30 years. CTG has already started project execution. The project will be implemented using aerobic MBBR technology from Aqwise, a CTG Technology Partner.
